Health & Safety
Breath holds and fast breathing can cause light-headedness or fainting. Read this before you practise.
Breathwork Protocols guides breathing exercises. It is not medical advice and not a medical device.
Before you start
- Never practise in or near water, such as a bath, pool or the sea, and never while driving or operating machinery.
- Sit or lie down, never stand. Fast breathing and breath holds can cause light-headedness, tingling or fainting.
- Ask a doctor first if you are pregnant, or have a heart, lung or seizure condition, high blood pressure or any other health concern.
- The app is intended for people aged 18 and over.
During a session
- Stop at once if you feel dizzy, faint, unwell or anxious. Breathe normally and rest.
- Never push through a hold. Gentler protocols such as coherent breathing or the physiological sigh are a good place to start.
- You are in charge: every protocol can be ended at any time, and you can edit the pace and length of any card.
